Internet of Things Security with Arrows Group

At the end of March, our managing director of cybersecurity services, Justin Leavenworth, took part in a webinar discussing the rise of IoT and how to combat cyber risks. For those not so familiar with the subject of the Internet of Things (IoT), these networked devices are predicted to change not only our personal lives but also our professional lives.
The most commonly associated IoT devices are things like smart refrigerators, homes assistants like Alex or Echo, and smart lighting like the Philips Hue lights. Outside of the consumer electronics side, IoT has the potential to revolutionize manufacturing, agriculture, and infrastructure but turning previously dumb machinery into smart machinery by connecting them to networks. This means that there is more data available for organisations to optimise processing and the ability to control critical functions remotely. This is one of the areas of IoT that is at risk of cybercrime.
This webinar included a panel of cybersecurity experts and discussed IoT from the business and technical perspectives, as well as looked at the dangers of IoT and what they mean for businesses and consumers.
